Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about bargain hunting and ouchiner.com.

What is ouchiner.com?
OuChiner is the European platform dedicated to bargain hunting and flea markets. It brings together 16,000+ antiques shops, second-hand shops, consignment shops, charity shops and vintage clothes shops across Europe on a single interactive map, plus a complete calendar of flea markets, car boot sales and antiques fairs in France, updated every two hours. You can find the nearest addresses in seconds, check opening hours and specialities, and create your own route to launch straight into Google Maps or Waze. Free for visitors, no advertising, no paid ranking: results are based only on geographic proximity.
How do I find a flea market near me?
OuChiner offers several ways to find flea markets and car boot sales nearby. The simplest: use the interactive map, enable geolocation or type your city to see all upcoming events in your area. You can also check the "Flea markets this weekend" page updated weekly, or the monthly calendar by region and department. Finally, the email alert service sends you weekly the list of flea markets within your chosen radius. Free registration in less than a minute, one-click unsubscribe.
What's the difference between an antique dealer and a second-hand dealer?
The antique dealer is a regulated professional who sells ancient items generally over a hundred years old, with expertise and authenticity guarantee — often specialized in a period (Louis XV, Art Deco) or category. The second-hand dealer sells second-hand items without necessarily formal expertise; prices are more accessible and negotiation more common. The charity shop or Emmaus adds a social and ecological mission: collects, repairs and resells at low prices. On OuChiner, each address is classified by type to help you choose based on budget.
How do I create a bargain-hunting route on ouchiner.com?
From the interactive map, zoom into the area that interests you. Coloured markers display by type of address. Click those you're interested in to view the listing, then add them to your list with one click. Once your selection is complete, launch the route to open the list in Google Maps or Waze with GPS turn-by-turn guidance. The app automatically calculates an optimised order to minimise trips.
How do I add my business to ouchiner.com?
Go to ouchiner.com/boutiques/ and create your professional listing. Basic registration is free for all antique dealers, second-hand dealers, consignment shops, charity shops and vintage clothes shops. Your listing includes address, GPS navigation, type and hours, and appears immediately on the map. The full listing (€59.99/year) adds photos, description, statistics and Instagram gallery. To claim an existing listing, click "This is my shop" or contact contact@ouchiner.com.
How do I publish my event (flea market, car boot sale) on ouchiner.com?
Create your free organiser account at ouchiner.com/mon-evenement.html. Enter name, date, address, hours and description. After review within 24-48h, your event is published on the map and calendar, and integrated into email alerts sent to subscribers in your area. Free publication for all organisers. Your organiser area then lets you edit, renew or duplicate your events.
Is ouchiner.com free?
Yes, completely free for visitors: interactive map, city search, calendar, routes — without registration or payment. No advertising. Event submission is free for organisers. The email alert service is free for individuals. For professionals, basic listing is free for life, full listing from €59.99/year with free trial up to 100 visits.
When do flea markets take place in France?
Flea markets take place year-round, with a main season from April to October (peak May-June-September). Spring weekends see the most events. In winter, antique fairs and pro displays in event halls take over, especially in November-December. Permanent flea markets (Saint-Ouen, Vanves, Montreuil…) run year-round every weekend. Check our calendar and "Flea markets this weekend" page.
How do I claim my shop listing on ouchiner?
On each shop listing, a "This is my shop" button initiates the procedure. Click and enter your business email. A verification code is sent in minutes. Once entered, you access your pro area to enrich your listing (photos, description, hours, Instagram). Free claim, no commitment. If your business isn't listed, go to ouchiner.com/boutiques/. Contact: contact@ouchiner.com, response within 24h on weekdays.
Is there advertising on ouchiner.com?
No, no advertising. It's a founding commitment: no banners, no sponsored content, no pop-ups. Map results are based only on geographic relevance, never on payment. All establishments appear on equal footing. Our model relies on optional professional subscriptions and partnerships with event organisers. Browsing remains free and ad-free for everyone.
What's the difference between a free listing and a full listing?
The basic listing is free for life: address, GPS navigation, business type, hours, presence on the map. The full listing (€59.99/year) adds photo gallery, detailed description, monthly visit statistics, highlight in your area, Instagram integration. During the launch period, the full listing is free until the first 100 visits — test without commitment.
